The design for this project includes the replacement of the entire HVAC system, interior ceiling system, and all exterior windows (as an additive option). In addition, due to existing roof conditions and layout, dormers have been added to the back side of each wing in order to allow for exhaust venting of bathrooms and storage rooms, and to bring in make-up air for kitchen hoods.
This is a 13,500 sq. ft. warehouse storage facility designed to store Mobility bags. It is a red iron steel structure with a standing seam metal roofing system. Exterior walls are CMU. This addition also includes an office, restrooms, janitor, electrical, communications, and mechanical rooms. Ventilation fans and vents are installed throughout. Ceiling mounted radiant heating systems are included to maintain heating of the facility.
McCall Architecture has recently completed the design portion of the renovation and expansion of Moody Air Force Base’s Dining Hall (Building 571). This project included the addition of offices, training rooms, and additional storage space, as well as the expansion of the dining hall’s kitchen working area. The renovation portion of the project included new finishes, new functional layout, new mechanical systems, new kitchen equipment, new electrical systems, and hazardous materials abatement.
McCall Architecture has a long, successful history with Moody Air Force Base. As part of our recent Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract with MAFB’s Civil Engineering Squadron, McCall designed the complete renovation and repair of Building 580, a 1980s dormitory. The existing three-story structure was comprised of two-bedroom/two half-bath floor plans with the two bedrooms sharing a common tub/shower area.
The new design, which is rated LEED Gold, features bedroom suites complete with living room, dining room, kitchen and private bath for each bedroom. The interior renovation work included complete system upgrades for mechanical, electrical and lighting. The exterior renovation work included the upgrade of all windows, structural repair and replacement of all balcony guardrails and handrails. Solar hot water and geothermal ground sourced heat pump HVAC were also included in the design work.
As a part of our Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract with Moody Air Force Base, we were commissioned to design an addition to the FARP (Forward Area Refueling Point) Facility which includes an administrative office, confernce room, a dark room, restrooms, a communications room, and a large open storage/warehouse space. The addition totals over 3,100 sq. ft.
